Nicola Kerbyson

Nicola (Nicky) Kerbyson graduated in 2007 from the University of Glasgow. She then worked for a year as an equine intern at the Royal Veterinary College near London where she was responsible for inpatient care, this was mostly equine with the occasional random other patient thrown in- including a rhino! Following that she spent 18months in the idyllic New Forest in mixed practice, but mostly working with New Forest ponies. She then moved to Kent to Milbourn Equine, a large equine practice working with sports horses predominantly, but also some point to pointers, leisure horses and ponies. Most weekends were spent either on call or on duty at three day events! She enjoyed all aspects of equine practice but developed an interest in equine medicine, specifically gastroenterology (colic). This led to a certificate in equine medicine and ultimately a PhD, back at the University of Glasgow. Nicky thoroughly enjoys working with both human and equine clients, and likes to provide a service which is both evidence-based but also practical for the clients circumstances. 

Outside of work she has three young children which leaves her little time for much else, but she has previously bred working Labradors and likes encouraging her children to follow in her outdoor footsteps!
